A filipino dish made with two main ingredients, soy sauce and vingar. Salty and savory.
1 Pork Butt or Should 8 to 10lbs
1 Yellow Onion
3-5 Bay Leaves
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
½ Teaspoon Ground Cloves
¾ Cup Soy Sauce (Shoyu)
1 ½ Cups White Vinegar
Note – Additional Soy Sauce & Vinegar can be added based on your taste preference
Cut pork into 1-inch cubes and place into a 6 to 8 quart cooking pot (depending on the amount of servings). Cut yellow onion into cubes, smash garlic & cut in half and then add them on top of the pork. Season with black pepper, ground cloves and bay leaves. Finally, pour your soy sauce & vinegar over all the ingredients. Add water until all the contents are covered.
Don’t stir the ingredients yet, just place your pot on top of stove on high heat. Bring ingredient to a boil, stir ingredients so they are mixed evenly, then reduce heat to a medium heat and cover pot. Cook until pork becomes tender and add water if sauce becomes low. Best served over rice.
